Russian Tea Cakes
 
1 cup soft butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
 
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla thoroughly. Stir in flour, salt and nuts. Work until dough forms and holds together. Form dough into 1 inch balls, place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes or until set but not brown (a little bit of tan spots is ok).
While still warm roll in powdered sugar. Cool, then roll in powdered sugar again.
Makes about 4 dozen.
